Radio Tacoma interviews Bryan Hatchell, manager of Checker Bloom, a surfy psych rock band from Bellingham, WA that will be here in Tacoma playing at the New Frontier on Friday, June 28th! Their debut album Ballads of Mirror Road comes out on July 5th, but meanwhile, hear their songs “Wastelander” and “Forbidden Love” after the interview.
Here is what Bryan says about the album: “The album’s lyrical content is divided into two halves; the first about a character lost in a post-apocalyptic wastescape, trying to survive while recocking with the extent to which he contributed to the destruction – the second half about redemption, encouragement to persevere, love, longing, and lust.”
