Tom Bates On and In Ukraine

As of July, 2022, millions of cats and dogs are starving in Ukraine. Although some Ukrainian refugees did manage to take some pets with them, most refugees were forced to leave them behind. By one estimate, Ukraine was home to some 750,000 dogs and 5.5 million cats as of 2014. In their desperate rush to flee war, many of those animals were left behind by their owners, especially large dogs.

I had the pleasure of talking with Tom Bates, who is doing something about this. Tune in to Radio Tacoma, or access our Archive here:  https://radiotacoma.org/public-affairs-with-louisa-archives/
